when everything's all mixed up.

so... there goes another year of a 365 days.

coming to this last day of such a special year, all the different feelings of what has happened and what was supposed to happen but did not are pouring in at once.

i would call this a special year because it was the first time in my life i got separated from my closest friends, in a conscious state. the transition from kindergarten to primary, or that of primary to secondary were never that big an impact to me.

while leaving high school, and going on our separate ways really wasn't too easy for me. probably because i was too used to seeing them 5 days in a week, back in the same classroom, at the same seats, doing the same routine.

why is it so easy to get used to doing certain things, but never as easy to withdraw ourselves from it? i even remembered how i ended up in tears when i called huei-wen on the orientation day itself at college. that was funny, but it definitely made me feel better.

then i eventually got used to my life as a pre-u student, and slowly found a group of friends whom i feel comfortable with... started to enjoy myself more at college as i got even closer to them. by spending more time together, doing various tasks together, i got to understand each of them better, knowing what's different and what's nice about each of them.

well, i'm truly glad i've met them and i too hope i've played my part well enough as a friend to them.

since most of us have moved on to different colleges, gatherings became something i longed for. any outings, or short catch up sessions were equally meaningful. as people always say, it's only when you lose something, you understand its true value. i agree.

i kinda think a big part of my life revolves around my friends. cause i guess besides family, they're the ones i care most. both family & friends, being the ones who would affect my emotions.

sometimes, it's hard to believe that i'm 18 already. i've always thought 18 was an age where i would be matured in every sense, knowing very well about these and that. which is pretty not right, there are so much more for me to learn to better myself.

a new year means a new beginning? basically it just marks another year of our lives. whether or not it would be a whole new beginning, it's still all up to us. not merely a new year resolution but enough determination to fulfil those promises we've made to ourselves.

2010 will be a better year ahead for me, you and everyone else...

Christmas Eve at Curve :)

it's pretty amazing how our plans changed at the last minutes. from going to Sepang Goldcoast for sunset and have a picnic there, to watching sunrise, to having a pot luck at tse wei's place and play with Gopi, until we've ultimately decided to just go to the curve and countdown to Christmas.

the only valid reason i could think of behind all these is that the people who are planning the outings are a big part of the people who could actually make it for the plans. so it's not exactly an act of being inconsiderate...

Since most of our Christian friends have already been occupied with their own activities, plus some who are not around or busy with parties, we were the only ones left :)

it was nice how we were greeted by lots of white white snow at curve, artificial snow of course which looked very foamy.

a beautiful sight to see~

tse wei & qing lin for us to test the correct camera mode to use, but the pictures are still either blur or dark, bad camera :P

huei-wen and i, can't see the snow though :)

after playing around with the snow for a while, it was time for us to choose where to have dinner. quite a difficult task for us beacuse we're always okay with anything. glad that we finally decided to eat at Thai Express as recommended by huei-wen :)

it was really not bad, except the food comes in rather large portion. you see, especially we were laughing sooooooo much, i was full of laughing already. BUT! there was nothing to fear at all! because, we had......

DUSTBIN MAN!

we made a song specially for our superhero, the Dustbin Man. it was sooo funny, laughing too much can be quite torturing. in the process, all we did was laugh while he never stopped devouring every single bit of the food left in our plates, mum mum mum...

at 9pm, our gift hunting game began! original idea was from qing lin, to each bring a gift so we could exchange them.

after little modification, it turned into a game where we went separate ways to search for a gift worth rm10-15, and reunited in half an hour's time.

seriously enjoyed the process. went from shop to shop, in search of something nice and at the same time within budget. halfway through when i was still looking a bit lost, coincidentally bumped into Dorie!! :D

i, who personally have a very bad sense of direction managed to find my way back to the starting point. phew! we waited for a while before huei-wen who was waiting at another floor made her way up to find us X) now, everyone was each holding a pressie. i got quite excited thinking it would be my first and probably only Christmas gift.

then tse wei brought us to Cupcake Chic (to Yanz or Hh if you ever see this, our IC3 is still the best! heeh) since we needed a place to exchange the gifts. we ordered half a dozen, and we all tried the six different flavours :) very sweeeeet.

from pretty cupcakes to nothing left! :D

the long waited moment! haha, we spent such a long time drawing the numbers, as we promised to keep drawing until none of us got our own number, the probability of it happening was so not high!

then when i finally got hw's; hw got mine; ql got tw's; tw got ql's. we thought it wasn't a satisfactory result, since hw knew the gift she bought wouldn't be what i like, and i thought what i bought was funny for hw too.

so we switched, and tada...

this was what i got from tw! the aromatic doughnut keychain we saw earlier and an educational toy. haha some colourful puzzle thingy.

hw's gift from ql, which he got at a discounted price x) Domokun!

a very thick story book for ql from hw. it's good ql reads this kinda book

and lastly, tw's. the twin bears from Little Heaven, a shop that sells baby products XD and the chair cushion from Daiso, everything was rm5 there. i never knew.

the gifts~ :D

we all liked Domokun a lot cause it has such a big mouth to bite everything, eats 'grass' too! X)

went to ikea after that to quech our thirst. just when we wanted to refill our coffee, a man came saying goodnight to us, shooing us away.

tw said something which made us laugh soooo much again! i better not write it here, in case he sees it, dustbin man's gonna eat me up.

for making us laugh so much, and for how we've always mistreated him. we made him Miss World Queen :D pretty leh.

then, we waited at the hotel's lobby for the clock to strike 12. finally, merry christmas! though it was all crowded, with many people wearing santa's hat, we didn't quite feel the Christmas spirit somehow.

many of them were enjoying themselves with the sprayer (not sure what it's called), while we had a hard time squeezing our way out, avoiding them. went to hw's house and chatted till 1.30am in her purple study room. all ears was on tse wei ;)

if laughing was the best medicine, i think we were all in the pink that night x)

*it's impossible to be happy when people around you are not, let's make sure that we play our part well as a good friend.

A Gastronomic Adventure. really!

i can't exactly remember the sequence now, but we went from petaling street, to a hawker stall, to time square, to low yat plaza, to sungei wang, and finally took the free shuttle bus back to ikano. from there. we walked back to OneU to meet up with Qing Xian :)

uugh, this was actually on a sunny 10th Dec.
but since i've already uploaded the pics some time ago, i shall just write a little about this wonderful trip to KL :D
we were halfway chatting through msn when tse wei suggested he could bring us to Petaling Street, and the next day we really made our way there :)

the bus at OneU...

the result of blogging so long after the day itself, i'm having a hard time recalling. the pictures shall do the talking.
it was almost as if the moment we stepped out of the lrt itself, we started eating... and we never stopped till we left the place .

this open-air barber shop was really something to see :)

watched Mulan,as recommended by qing xian's sister. it was indeed a nice movie which made all of us cry.

This post is here just so that i would remember there was this fine day, we went on a gastronomic adventure. :D [a more detailed post by Huei-Wen]

3D2N at Malacca~ ;)

6 Dec '09, Sunday
As planned, the car people met up with Hk at college by 8am... all ready with our luggage and excited hearts :D The entire journey to our destination (Sunny's house) was safe & smooth with only a little drizzle, except that Little John suddenly appeared in the car and said Hi.
-
Right after the toll, our traffic lights counter began, just because Sunny told us we'll at least pass by 10 traffic lights before reaching his house X) and true enough, there were a total of 14 traffic lights! saw as many as 5 wedding cars and a chicken as well~
-
-
With Hk's driving, we managed to reach at around 10am when we entered Taman Cheng (my surname!) Perdana... and spotted a beautiful double-storey house with a handsome guy there welcoming us X) then while waiting for Sunny's parents to return with the bus people, we played with the purple mahjong set, most of us didn't even know how to play actually!
-
we had a short rest and shifted our bags to Sunny's room before going for our breakfast - fish paste noodle with yong tau fu. it was nice but we kinda over ordered, without knowing that there would be a portion of fucuk given with every order. so that explains our bloated stomach...
-
-
drove to Mahkota Parade after the very filling breakfast... the Christmas deco in the mall~ :)
it wasn't long before we finished walking around the mall, which caused us to be ahead of the itinerary Sunny prepared earlier X) so he decided to take us to The Jetty for a karaoke session~ it seemed quite quiet and isolated, but they actually provide buggy service.
-
look! the Eye on Malaysia and the area around it which is still under development... :D
-
first time singing with this combination of people, Shee Shum got a little high singing halo that poor Hb was harassed by him X) in that 2 hours... we had joy, we had fun~we had seasons in the sun~

-
we had a buggy ride out and i felt the urge to drive it somehow X) it looked quite interesting to be fetching so many people :P
-
no idea when Zs took this picture but i like it! birdy resting peacefully on a wooden pole in the middle of the calm water... :)
-
found another wedding car~ pretty sure it was an auspicious day, by the end of the day we saw a total of 11 wedding cars, if i didn't remember wrongly. not bad at all! :D
-
went back to Mahkota Parade after that for Cendol to cool ourselves... the sun was being too warm & generous. a little too sweet but it tasted really good!
-
upon reaching our next stop, the Dataran Pahlawan, we took a slow and relaxing stroll around the place, under the scorching hot sun though X) amazed by the fact that they actually lifted the whole grassland and constructed shop lots underneath it... now it looks perfect, like it has never been touched before.
-
took some pictures there~ :)

-
Dinner was indeed very special!! Sunny's parents brought us to a faraway place by a river for Ikan Bakar... the drive there seemed like forever with the countless traffic lights X) really thank you Uncle for bringing us there and for treating us that meal :)
-
the nasi lemak and soya sauce + onion & limau specially for Zs to zha~ XD
-
sting ray, cockel and another seafood, i don't know what its called... it's long and very chewy. noticed the jug of air limau? for Zs to zha too XD
-
the place... which i didn't get to see the name, too busy looking at the surrounding X)
-
ohhh, this is the best among all besides the sting ray! we named it Ayam Pandan Bakar oursleves :P
-
after the scrumptious dinner, his dad showed us the way to Jonker Street and then left us. at jonker street, there was this stage for Uncle & Aunties to enjoy themselves, singing and dancing~ :D
-
and we tried this... grapes dipped into some sugar solution, the sugar coating hardens after a while, wrapping the juicy grape in it :D
-
jonker walk... oh, we also tried a drink, which is very much like bubble tea, except the pearls are replaced with bubbles that will burst in your mouth (that's how the person described it to us haha) well, they're called frog balls :D
-
after exploring the very meriah jonker street, went walking around the place... very nice~ the lighting was beautiful, with the gentle breeze blowing... :)
-
this is a group picture, taken by three very friendly girls. they even made sure that everyone's face could be seen :)
-
next was Eye on Malaysia which i was quite eager to try :D
the only good thing was, we expected 3 rounds, but ended up knowing we actually went 6 rounds X)
-
there were really not much to be viewed... besides the non-full moon, the very dark & black sea, roads with lights, the gondola next to ours, and to stare at each other XD
-
that's the moon~
-
three of us....
-
and a group picture with the Ferris wheel :D
and so, our first day was very well spent, walking here and there, seeing this and that~
went home, i mean Sunny's house, took turns to clean up and we played Uno!! i miss playing Uno now... :O
-
this is his brother's room, temporarily the girl's room ;)

-
never thought Uno can be this fun lo XD Hb broke a record for holding more then 25 cards... then Denesh was even better.
when his turn came, he confidently said, "you think i don't have ar!" and the next second...
"eh, i really don't have o.o"
SRSly, rofl!!
XD
-
and we brought along our BBs (beruang-beruang = bear bear)... :P

had a good night sleep, thanks to the nice blanket and bed his mom prepared for us :)

7 Dec '09, Monday
-
Woke up feeling fresh despite how tired we got yesterday... then we tried the famous chicken rice ball. 8 of us devoured a whole chicken with five rice balls each X) i like the rice ball more than the chicken :D
-

-
then it was time for us to indulge ourselves in the historical buildings... :)

-
pretty flowers...

-
us, as small as ants X)
-
-
under the glaring sun...
-
-
-
-
after the hot adventure, Sunny brought us driving around the town, Melaka Raya... vroom vroom vroom... and we saw this! AMIGO restaurant! we actually passed by already, purposely made a u-turn back, just so we could take a picture of it XD

-
[ then we continued driving around until we saw another object worth taking picture of... we were sooo excited when we saw it by the junction! immediately took out the camera and took a picture of it! but it shan't be revealed here, until Yanz accept us in Facebook. this picture can be found there btw :D ]
-
-
the airport...
-
dinner was Satay Celup~ another famous food in Malacca...
-
we were quite thirsty that each ordered two cups of drink X)
-

and when the sky turned dark, we went to the Portugal Settlement where we walked along the pavement by the sea side... it was quiet there, so you could hear the waves hitting the shore every now and then :)
-
excuse my expression in this picture X)
-
a place Little John might like... very eerie actually! that floating platform kept making a screeching sound each time it rubbed against the metal bars hooked to it.
-
the very cute sunshade in Sunny's car. the new born dragon is trying to befriend a nerdy mole :D
-
even later at night, we got to experience Malacca's mamak stall... this time, Sunny called around 7 of his secondary buddies out too. after we were introduced to each other, the night went on with us talking among ourselves and them busy catching up with one another X)
left at 12+... played a few rounds of Uno again before we went to bed :D

8 Dec'09, Tuesday
-
Also, our last day at Malacca. woke up feeling a little sad, knowing that we'll have to leave after lunch. on the first day, it was as if we had too much time to spend; on the second day, time seemed to pass a lil faster; then came the third day already...
-
had dim sum for breakfast :) the meal was on Zs, thank you! ;)
see the difference in size between the Dai Pao & Char Siew Pao? :D
(i doubt you see any difference, Dai Pao's actually the one on the right)
-
-
hmm after breakfast, we made our way to Melaka Sentral to grab tickets for the bus people, or in other words, the BFFs Zs and D, a.k.a. the best camwhore partners! :D
-
dropped by at a souvenir shop, Tan Kim Hock for some local stuff... bought a box of dodol.
then we went to Jonker Street once again, to have one last walk... but we still failed to find some noodles Hh's mother wanted.
-
the bus tickets bought were for 3.30pm. ish, time seemed extremely precious out of a sudden.
lunch was at a baba nyonya restaurant. a final meal together before saying goodbye...
-
the kangkung was spicy! the dishes were kinda salty... oh, Kangkung's a famous vegetable in Malacca... we had it everyday throughout the 3 days :)
-
after the meal, we quickly went back to pack our belongings as it was time to leave... Sunny fetched the bus people to the bus place while we left in Hk's car again, just like how we came. Aunty made us her very nice pineapple tarts before we left. can't thank her enough for welcoming us so warmly :) thanks a lot aunty...
-
journey back, managed to take picture of these u-turn shaped traffic lights! nice :)
-
-
and these are the very nice pineapple tarts given by Sunny's mom :)
reached college at around 5.30pm... and it was the end of the trip. i'm missing it now.

during these three days, we've got the chance to know each other even better. i would consider it as 3 days worth of genuine happiness. spending almost every minute with them, i realized some extra little things from each of them, mostly good ones though :) on the way home itself, flashbacks of the moments we spent together were enough to make me smile. and i hope with this post, i can always remember everything that has happened throughout this stay at Malacca.
-
everyone is different, and each friend brings me a different kind of happiness~ :)
